International Restaurants in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen has a very good of international gastronomy in the center of the city. If you would like to broaden your tastes beyond tacos, ceviche, tostadas and guacamole, consider a visit to the following international restaurants, all located in the downtown area. Playa is a cosmopolitan city and here are some suggestions from various different nations:

GERMANManne’s Biergarten is a Playa institution, manned by the friendly owner and German expat Manne. Located on Calle 4 between 10 Ave and 15 Ave. On the food menu you will find some bar snacks, grilled chicken, a few pastas, Mexican dishes like fajitas, and then there are the German dishes. They have bratwurst, schweinebraten, sausages, and Bavarian along with side dishes of sauerkraut and German potatoes. Open: Wednesday-Monday 4:00pm-1:00am. Closed Tuesday.

 GREEKMilo’s is located on Calle 38th and the beach and is the place to go for Greek food in Playa Del Carmen. They serve many traditional dishes from back home, including: roast lamb, souvlaki, giros, greek salad with feta cheese, fried zucchini and eggplant are among the many dishes that we recommend here. Try a baklava for dessert. Open: Monday -Sunday 12:00 noon-11:00pm

JAPANESESushi Ken is on 10th avenue, a few steps away from Coco Bongo on 12th street. On Wednesday they have their promotions of 2X1 rolls, so they can get quite full at times, but it’s worth it, as they have a large selection to choose from at very good prices. Their daily specials are served as combo platters, with salad, sushi rolls, tempura, in a classic Japanese lunch style.

ITALIANPiola is located on 38th and 5th has a large menu every pizza and pasta that you can think of. Pizzas are cooked in a brick oven and come in two sizes, 10 inches and 16 inches.

THAIBabe’s is located on Calle 10, between 5th and 10th avenue. It’s calls itself a noodle bar and is owned by a Swedish expat. Babe’s is well known for famous for their Pad Thai and curries dishes. They have tables inside and outside, comfortable booths inside of a tastefully designed décor and ambience.They serve up some good noodles in various Asian styles among other international noodle dishes and curries. Dishes can be ordered as whole or half portions. Most people know it for their Asian noodles. Open: Tuesday-Sundays 1:00pm-12 midnight
