If you are planning a visit to Playa del Carmen during your stay with Gate48 then you must head down to the pedestrian only 5th Avenue, known by its Spanish name: La Quinta Avenida.
This is the premier shopping district in the Riviera Maya, an ultra-chic shopping area in the heart of Playa del Carmen´s downtown neighborhood.
The ADO bus station is located here, while the ferry to Cozumel is just a short walk east. As you walk 5th you will come across many stores and restaurants, as well as some shopping centers which we have listed below.
Paseo del Carmen
This is located at the beginning of 5th Avenue, across the street from the Playacar gated community. This is a place where you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants here, or go for a walk under the trees surrounded by fountains. Among the many shops in Paseo del Carmen are Pull and Bear, Oakley, Zara and also a Starbucks.
This mall opened in 2015 and is located between 12th and 14th Street. It is a four-story building that houses the 92-room Thompson Playa del Carmen Hotel. Among the shops that you will find here are H & M, Calvin Klein, Steve Madden, Victoria’s Secret and Sunglass Hut. If you fancy a drink visit Cantina No.20 or grab some Japanese food at Sushi Roll.
At the corner of 5th Avenue and Constituyentes Avenue you’ll find this mall, a beautiful open-air three floor structure. On the ground floor you will find an Ultrafemme, Forever 21, Oakley, and an iShop dedicated to Mac computer products and a Starbucks. The second floor has a Levis, American Eagle Outfitters, Lacoste and Nike store, while the top floor has a Sanborns department store with its own patio restaurant.
