In today’s blog we would like to invite you to a special wine tasting event being held this week at the oceanside C-Grill restaurant in Playa del Carmen. It is sponsored by Napa Valley winery Chateau Montelena, made famous thanks in 1976 “Judgment of Paris,” a blind taste test competition that rocked the wine world after their California Chardonnay defeated French wines for the first time. They even used it for the plot of a 2008 film called Bottle Shock.
On Thursday April 12 you will have the opportunity to meet and dine with Bo Barrett, the award-winning Chateau Montelena winemaker, and his team from the Napa Valley. The winery is located on a 200-acre vineyard which was transformed by entrepreneur Alfred L. Tubbs, into the seventh largest winery in the Valley. Bo Barrett’s father became a partner in 1968 when the property was resold a second time.
The restaurant is inside of the Thompson Beach House, located on calle 8 with the beach in downtown Playa del Carmen. It’s a 40 minute drive from Gate48 and parking is available nearby.
The cost for this event is $75USD / $1,350 MXN per person. There is a maximum of 50 people. Email here to RSVP: firstname.lastname@example.org
