Good value for money. Well located, closed to Akumal and other attractions. Management very responsive to demands and queries. Good place to stay a long weekend or weeks if exploring the area.
This is the 2nd time Ive stayed at this property and loved it! Beautiful, Clean Condo with Awesome Amenities! Plenty of things to do nearby. I recommend renting a car and stopping by grocery store to have some snacks or food in case you get hungry. There are plenty of excellent restaurants around with many food and price choices. There are many tours and lovely places to see. The Beaches and the Water are the most Beautiful Ive ever seen! My <3 is here! Have Fun!
Could not possibly be happier. The home is quite perfect for families, couples, or even a single looking for great comfortable luxury at a great price. The Tao residences are the PERFECT jungle hideaway and located within the Grand Bahia Principe Akumal resort which is just flat out one of the coolest areas ever.
The condo was exactly as described and located in a quiet, picturesque community with access to many amenities and perks. Very well kept and comfortable for four. We found everything we needed here and really enjoyed the proximity to Tulum beaches and the cool beach clubs where we spent most of our time. Restaurants in Tulum are great as well. Day trips to Cenotes and Chichen Itza made this trip memorable!
We found rhe property to be clean and well maintained, and it looks as shown in photos. Rossina, the property mgr was a jewel. All communications & the check in went smoothly. It's very near the great restaurant and pools & yoga classes at Tao. It's also close to cenotes, ruins, shopping, beaches and anything else you like. We especially enjoyed snorkeling the lagoons & cenotes along Hwy 307 and having dinner in restaurants along Half Moon Bay - great seafood, mariachis and sunsets. We spent two days at Sian Ka'an and the lagoon float is great fun. It was all fun & I'd recommend it to anyone.
We traveled here with a preschooler and a toddler, so this review is from that perspective. We absolutely loved our week here and would come back again. Pros: The condo was clean, resort was quiet, shower had great water pressure, filtered water provided, def enough kitchen equipment to make simple meals (even a blender we used for making a smoothie), shelves in the bathroom and storage elsewhere were really great for organizing belongings, resort staff was friendly, and loved having a washer and dryer. The patio was used as basically another room for breakfasts, quiet time for our preschooler, etc. The access to the sister resorts' pool and beaches was great. You definitely need a map but we got it down pretty quickly. The pools and beaches were in great condition and we could have spent all week just checking these out. Cons: We requested a pack & play and highchair. The highchair wasn't ever delivered which was semi-okay because our toddler can eat on a chair or on our laps but I would have been really frustrated if he was an infant. It seems like this was a one time situation so I don't think I would let that keep me from renting here. If you haven't ever dealt with a management company and owner before then that might be a little different, we have for our last couple vacations so it wasn't too surprising. John (the owner) is great, responds quickly, and helped me with travel tips. The management company was pretty good but didn't come by until we had been there for over 24 hours and of course they have limited hours unlike say a hotel front desk. Also, it seemed like the sister resorts didn't know quite what all was going on- we weren't really sure what pools/resorts we could use but no one stopped us from using the pools at the Coba resort. We bought drinks one day at the resort and the bartender didn't quite know what to think of us giving him cash. This definitely wasn't enough to bother us but just a heads up if you haven't ever stayed at a owner owned condo before. Tips for the area: get your money changed into pesos. I think you can do it at the sister resorts' lobby if you don't get it done at the airport. There are SO many great restaurants to eat at in Tulum and along the beach but a lot of the little ones don't take credit cards. Definitely rent a car. We loved this location because we could do the pools or beaches but also drive into Tulum in the evening to eat and walk around. Loved this trip.
Agreed with all positive details in the reviews above. What else was important for us: 1. No mosquitoes or other biting insects outside (January), 2. Good WiFi , 3. Plenty of towels, extra linen sets. 4. Quite and secure location. , 5. Kitchen full of everything (but it needed sharper chef knives). We were renting a car to go snorkeling and to visit some fun and historical places around. The weather was pretty enjoyable, with a couple of refreshing rains and some breezy mornings. This was our 3rd vacation in Riviera Maya and the most comfortable one so far.
It was our first time in Mexico and we were thrilled to have chosen this condo. It's located about two hours from the airport. John encouraged us to rent a car and we did. The flat is in Tao which is located across the highway from the beach. It was perfectly located, quiet, tidy and just as pictured. We appreciated the filtered water and the friendly manager who checked on is to make sure were okay. The beach is a few miles drive but that worked out fine especially with a car- if not we would have had to spend lots of time waiting for the tram to take us to the hotels or the golf club where we had to pick up bracelets, towel cards and day passes. The day passes were a terrific deal as it included four meals /drinks etc for $60 per person person. Needless to say we hardly cooked. The passes also gave acces to The Luxury Bahia Principe which we found to be most relaxing. The only things that needed improvement were 1. information on how to get dinner when arriving late at night. After a long plane ride and long drive at night we ended up back in the car looking for food and had to drive into Akumal town to find one barely open grocery store and ate ham and cheese sandwiches for dinner as all restaurants closed at 9 pm .2. The beds were pretty uncomfortable and the pillows and sheets really could use replacing. They are worn and done. For such a nice condo, nice bed covers and pillows could do wonders. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend to others.
The condo is exactly as pictured, & located in a new development called Tao within the Bahia Principe complex. It was the perfect basecamp for our family's wonderful vacation to the Riviera Maya. John was an excellent host, accommodating us on little notice, as our travel plans changed last minute, and was always prompt with answering any questions and addressing any concerns. The condo is well equipped for basic cooking, but there are no food stuffs provided. So if you plan on cooking pick up any oils, butter, sugar & spices that you may need. A 5 gallon purified water jug is provided and is much appreciated!! The TAO complex is lovely and the staff is exceptional - very friendly and helpful. The pool is a quiet, peaceful alternative to the Bahia Principe resort area - which was much more lively and touristy during our stay. Don't miss La Buena Vida Beach Front restaurant in Akumal - it was our family's favorite spot - gorgeous views, tasty food and fun hammocks, swings and even a tree house & pool for guests to enjoy. All in all, - magical vacation. Thanks so much.
Beautiful condo located in a luxurious resort! It is a great place for a family vacation. The condo is excellent - clean, comfortable, and elegantly designed. Two bedrooms, a spacey living and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, new furniture, excellent AC.
John's condo was very spacious, modern, clean and beautifully built inside, with lovely gardens surrounding the buildings. We slept sounded in the comfy bed and were very comfortable with the mosquitos safely kept outside. The wood inside was beautiful with large wooden closet and bedroom doors. Because their are thick wooden doors between the other bathroom and bedroom area, it would give another couple complete privacy. Perfect place for 2 couples or a family! The Taos center was wonderful as well with a healthy breakfast offered every morning and pizza/salads for lunch or dinner. They even delivered the pizza to us. The waiters was very accommodating and even put fans next to us (the mosquitos prevailed) The 2 lap pools were fabulous under the nice shady trees. And the large swimming pool was clean, sunny and bright with plenty of nice chairs and umbrellas to sit under. The only problem we had at Tao was the outside sitting (in a lovely garden) was inundated with mosquitos ( in June anyway) Our suggestion is to offer seating at tables inside the building and with some air conditioning (because there is very little breeze to chase away the bugs and get cooled a bit). The dance and yoga classes also sounded like fun but were a little early for us. Our last problem was with the management at Bahia Principe, especially at the club house. They tell you that you can get a ride to the Tao area on the tram until 7:00 (or even 10pm if you go to a show) so you can visit their "resort" in the Tulum/Akumal building side until then. But the tram sometimes stops at 5? it's unpredictable. Also, unless you pay the all inclusive you can not buy any food at their beach or resort and it is difficult to get drinks as well. We recommend what we did and liked very much, going into Tulum or Akumal towns( to eat and shop (great things to buy in Tulum or somethings near the ruins as well) on the collectivo (small modern, air conditioned vans that pick you up on the main hwy every 5 or 10 minutes) or if you can afford to rent a car ($45 a day at Hertz, with full insurance). The prices for car rentals on line are honored when their office in Tulum etc. You can take the ADO to and from the airport for the cheapest modern bus offered. Sincerely, Fred and Caroline Duarte
The experience was beautiful, from the arrival the cool loft with soft music waiting for us. The space is very comfortable, being on ground level gives the feeling of being in a house, with beautiful background trees on the terrace. From the TAO condos's amenities, the TAO Wellness Center is the one that captivates me, two swimming trails with sea water in the middle of the jungle, calm and meditative atmosphere. It is essential to rent a car to move inside the complex and to go to neighboring beaches, I especially recommend going to Xpu Ha, Xcacel and Tulum, for dinner I recommend the restaurant "La Cueva del Pescador" in Akumal. Thanks for everything, best regards.
Great place to stay while exploring Akumal and Tulum area! Very clean, all the amenities one needs plus great water pressure and hot water and a washing machine/dryer. It's close to both areas and we loved it because it was quiet but if you want to be around people you could just go the the pool or center.
Wonderful condo perfect for our family . Nice quiet community. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Easy access to beach and other amenities. Will definitely come back!
Gate48 has been an amazing host!!! The place was as per the pictures. We were delighted for 9 days and we will stay with them again
The apartment is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful stay.
Location is PERFECT and the home is absolutely stunning w a breathtaking view!
A clean, modern and well maintained apartment in a small relaxed community. In the community itself there's a centre a short walk with a great little spot for breakfast and lunch, and a couple of pools in the immediate area. There's no nearby supermarket, and the resorts aren't walking distance, so I'd strongly recommend a car to make this an easy vacation
Great experience. Stayed for 12 days and had an amazing time. Super beautiful place. Host are great. We will return
Very nice place ... Top clean ! a lot of services for the price ! I'm looking forward to go back next time ! A+
Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed space.
